Antique Ebonised Vanity Casket With Greek Key Inlay

A highly decorative and exquisitely made box.

Inlaid abalone shell greek key design with gilt edging and floral design on the top.

The original key is present and working, once unlocked the top lifts up and the front flap folds back revealing different silk and velvet-lined compartments for jewellery and trinkets.

It is in very good vintage condition with some minor wear and tear consummate with age. The majority of the inlay is still present. The gilding is slightly rubbed in places. All of the moving parts work as they should. There is some wear and tear from use but nothing too serious. The lacquer could fairly easily be waxed and polished, it currently has a slightly matte finish which we love so have left it how we found it.

Measuring 25cm wide x 18cm high x 16cm deep.
