Antique French Louis XIV Inlaid and Carved Oak Buffet Cabinet, Early 18th Century

Antique French Louis XIV Inlaid and Carved Oak Buffet Cabinet, Early 18th Century
Antique French Cupboard
A highly decorative and unusual cabinet with carved shell details and inlaid maquetry stars.
Brass handles, escutcheons and iron hinges.
Two drawers over a central cupboard with panelled sides
Largely constructed of oak with some walnut/chestnut and pine elements.
The buffet probably originally dates from the early 18th Century period during the reign of Louis XIV.
The cabinet is in good vintage order. It is solid and sturdy and still very usable; it has been updated and repaired over the years with some replacement timbers and honest repairs throughout, which add to its charm and tell its story. There is some old, dead woodworm which we have treated for good measure.
Approximate measurements: 130.5cm wide x 60.5cm deep x 98.5cm high.
