Antique Painted Domed Trunk

A decorative and useful chest of fairly generous proportions, constructed of pine with iron carry handles.

Layers of old paint of differing shades of green, the top layer being an attractive shade of apple green, naturally worn over time to great effect.

Originating from France, this example probably dates from the mid to late 19th century.

The trunk is in good vintage order and is still very usable, there is wear throughout, which adds to its charm and tells its story. At some point its its life, a new base has been added. There is some old woodworm present, which we have treated for good measure.
