Antique Swedish Chair

A decorative and characterful chair with simple lines, a solid back, a solid seat and double box stretchers.

Peg joined construction made of pine with layers of original paint worn down naturally over time with muted red underneath dark brown.

Originating from Sweden, the chair dates to the late 18th/early 19th century circa 1800 during the reign of Gustav IV.

It is in very good vintage condition with only minor wear commensurate with age. The chair is still perfectly usable and the joints all seem sound, there are cosmetic imperfections throughout which add to its charm and tell its story but no serious issues.

Measuring 84cm high x 41cm wide x 40cm deep. The seat height is 44.5cm.
