Vintage Wood Carving Depicting a Horse
A charming and stylish depiction of a horse grazing.
Skilfully carved from a single piece of wood with beautiful contrast between the smooth horse and rougher base, where the artist has left the chisel marks to emulate the ground.
Carved in a stylised manner somewhat reminiscent of Art Deco sculpture.
Signed underneath ‘Alan Ashcroft’ and probably dating from the mid-20th century period, circa 1930s-1950s in date.
The sculpture is in great vintage condition with only minor wear commensurate with age.
Approximate measurements: 27cm high x 25cm wide x 13cm deep.
