Vintage Black Lacquered Metal Deed Safe Cabinet, Lockable 12" Record Storage, c. 1930s
Vintage Black Lacquered Metal Deed Safe Cabinet, Lockable 12" Record Storage, c. 1930s
Vintage Lockable Cabinet
Constructed from black lacquered steel, casting a simple, stylish silhouette which would work well in a number of interior settings.
It would have originally been made to store deeds or important documents in a legal or professional office. This model has two locks with different keys, so it would have had the added security measure of needing two different key holders present in order to gain access.
The two doors open to reveal four internal storage cubby holes, originally for deeds but are also the perfect size to store 12” records today. It could be used as a simple storage solution for a number of different purposes with the added benefit of being lockable.
Probably dating from the early 20th Century period, circa 1920s-1940s.
It is in very good vintage condition with some minor wear commensurate with age, including small dings, scuffs and scratches etc. but no serious issues. The original locks are present and working as they should.
Approximate measurements: 77cm wide x 50cm deep x 70.5cm high. Each of the four cubby holes measures approximately 33cm high x 38cm wide
