Antique Walnut Chair With Figural Carving
Probably Northern Italian in origin and carved in the Italian Renaissance style.
An unusually square shape profusely carved with naturalistic carvings and decorative turned spindles with grotesques or fantastical beasts guarding either side of the seat, from what I can gather, bearded men with walnut breasts and single lion paw feet.
Dating from the 19th Century.
Raised on brass castors.
It is in very good vintage condition with only minor wear commensurate with age and no serious structural issues.
Measuring 60cm wide x 52cm deep x 78cm high. The seat height is 44cm.
