Antique Rustic Bench
A highly decorative bench constructed from elm with time worn dry finish full of character.
A stylish silhouette of long and narrow proportions which could equally work in a modern, antique or eclectic setting.
Originating from China, these benches would have originally been used in municipal settings like waiting rooms or basic restaurants like noodle shops etc.
Dating from the early 20th century period during the latter part of the Qing Dynasty. Probably using earlier timbers as a lot of these benches were updated when needed.
It is in good vintage condition, with wear commensurate with age. It is still very usable, when sat on it feels solid and sturdy. It is cosmetically worn throughout with gnarly finish which adds to its charm and aesthetic and tells its story.
