Antique French Wood Carving
A hugely decorative and charming piece depicting a woman in traditional clothing.
Carved in a fairly naive and folky, yet accomplished style, with wonderful details, including her facial features, hair, collar, clothing and the overall shapes used.
Originating from France, she is possibly Breton and probably dating from the 19th or possibly early 20th century.
The carving is largely in good condition, there is wear throughout consistent with age and some minor losses etc. There is also some historic woodworm which we have treated for good measure.
Approximate measurements 26cm high x 9cm wide x 7cm deep.
