Antique North African Rug

Dating from c.1920s.

This would have originally been part of a nomadic tent, each time the tribe set up in a new location these panels would have been sewn together to form a larger panel.

Today this would work equally well as a runner or looks amazing hung on the wall.

Originally bought by the current owner in Algeria directly from a tribal community.

Thick, heavyweight wool with reds yellows, grey/blues and white in a geometric design.

Both ends are adorned with tassels but one end has a double row.

It is in great vintage condition. There are no real holes or worn out sections to speak of. It is somewhat faded from use over time but we think this adds to its charm. The only thing I would point out is a small dark stain which blends in quite well as it is dark and muted.
