Mid Century Pottery Vases
A pair of intriguing pottery vases of unusual form, mallet shaped with twisted spiral design on the body and textured rims. The main body is glazed in a dark violet or plum coloured lustre, whereas the bases and rims have a matt black finish.
They are unsigned but feel fairly sculptural and works of art in their own right. Possibly Italian in origin and probably date from the mid 20th century period.
Overall they are in good vintage condition with no serious structural issues or repairs. There is wear commensurate with age including some chips to the purple glaze. One is more worn than the other and both can be displayed well depending on what side you position them.
