Deliciously Worn Wooden Horse Tack Collar
These are really unusual and actually quite beautiful. I would say they probably date from the late 19th/early 20th century. They are quite possibly gypsy in origin but even if not have a wonderful folky feeling about them.
The layers of paint on the wood have slowly worn away over time from use to reveal a very striking and attractive piece.
The top is made from heavy leather with metal studs and they can easily be hung on the wall to make an interesting talking point.
They are in good vintage condition, it is all very sturdy and the wood has been treated. They are obviously cosmetically worn but then that's why we bought them. Please see photos.
