Spanish ‘Paca’ Olive Oil Pump Dispenser, 1940s

This would have originally sat on top of a shop counter connected up to a barrel of olive oil.
Customers would have bought their own bottles in and then set how much they would like at the top, 1 Litre, 1/2 Litre, 1/4 litre or 1/8th Litre then you would wind the handle up to draw out the olive oil and then back down to pump it out of the tap into the bottle.
Appropriately it has been mounted onto a circular piece of olive wood.
We are selling it as a decorative piece, It is still still in working order although if you wanted to use it for its original purpose It would need taking apart and cleaning/servicing. Cosmetically, as can be seen from the photographs it is worn. There are old layers of paint and worn chrome plating etc. We love the way it looks but this could be sandblasted and polished or restored back to its former glory.
