Edwardian Ocean Liner Toilet

Edwardian Ocean Liner Toilet

£0.00

Antique Blue and White Porcelain Toilet

An exceedingly rare blue and white transferware toilet. After a bit of research we believe it came from the 4th SS Rotterdam ocean liner of the Holland America Line, built in 1908.

If this toilet could talk...well actually on second thoughts lets hope it can't!!!

It is stunning with beautiful blue and white floral decoration which includes birds and foliage. Along the rim is the name of the ship in red script. The toilet is stamped in the basin 'Porcher' which I believe was a French toilet company and was made for them by Cauldon the English pottery.

It would make an interesting and beautiful talking point either for an interesting interior space or it was also look amazing outside in the garden amongst plants.

The toilet does have a bit of damage to it so would have to be restored a little if you were going to use it as a toilet. There is a crack running down the front and there is some damage around the holes that would have originally bolted it to the floor. Other than that it is in good vintage condition. Please see photographs.

Measuring: 42cm high X 44cm deep X 34cm wide.
