Large Colourful Sketchy Abstract by Richard Sladden, Late 20th Century

£0.00

Vintage Original Oil on Canvas Painting by Richard Sladden (1933-2020)

Depicting free moving shapes, almost Matisse cut-out esque.

Sladden (1933-2020) originally trained as an Architect at the RWA (Royal West of England Academy) he later moved into sculpture and then abstract painting. He came into prominence in the 1960s with one-man shows at the New Vision Centre Gallery and Alwin Gallery in London and at Arnolfini Gallery, in Bristol, as well as showing with groups in MoMA, New York.

I would date this piece to the 1970s-1990s period.

The painting is in excellent vintage condition with only very minimal wear and tear.

Overall measurements: 149.5cm x 119.5cm x 4.5cm.
