Antique Irish Primitive Painted Pine Scullery Table, 19th Century

Antique Irish Primitive Painted Pine Scullery Table, 19th Century
Antique Side Table
A decorative and rustic piece constructed of pine with square tapered legs united by a box stretcher with a frieze drawer and a shelf underneath the two-plank top.
Layers of original paint, the top layer being a burnt orangey red, which has worn naturally over time to great effect.
The top has also been naturally worn from years of use in places and undulates in a similar way to an antique butchers’ block.
Originating from Ireland, it would have originally been a prep table in a country kitchen, but could also work well elsewhere as a side table elsewhere.
Probably dating from the early to mid-19th century, circa 1800-1850 in date.
The table is in good, usable vintage condition; it is worn throughout, which we think adds to its charm and tells its story.
Approximate measurements: 88cm wide x 58cm deep x 71cm high.
