Antique Hungarian Rustic Painted Pine Side Table, 19th Century

Antique Hungarian Rustic Painted Pine Side Table, 19th Century
Antique Side Table
A decorative and rustic piece constructed of pine with square tapered legs united by an H-stretcher with a frieze drawer and a two-plank top.
Layers of original paint, the top layer being a buttery, creamy yellow, which has worn naturally over time to great effect.
Originating from Hungary, it would have originally been a prep table in a country kitchen, but could also work well elsewhere as a side table or desk.
Probably dating from the early 19th century, circa 1800-1840 in date.
The table is in good usable vintage condition, it is worn throughout, which we think adds to its charm and tells its story. The stretchers are naturally worn by feet over the years, likewise, the drawer handle has completely eroded away from use but still works. The tabletop is in good rustic order. There is also wear to the paintwork throughout the base, and there is some old dead woodworm present, which we have treated for good measure.
Approximate measurements: 100cm wide x 74cm deep x 79cm high.
