Pair of Walnut Framed Pink Open Armchairs, 19th Century

£0.00

Antique English Country House Chairs Upholstered in Pink Damask

Good quality English armchairs, no stamps but very much in the style of Howard & Sons.

Extremely comfortable and a generous size.

Rich walnut turned frames with faded pink damask upholstery, probably undertaken mid-20th century.

Porcelain castors stamped ‘C&C Patent’ for Cope and Collinson which were good quality castors used by both Howard and Gillows.

They are in good order, and the joints seem solid and sturdy, the walnut frames do have some wear and tear as you would expect. The upholstery is somewhat faded which I love but can be mostly seen when removing the loose cushion on each. It is good-quality, thick fabric and there are no areas where it is worn through or tears or holes. The front castors are original and the back ones are replacements.

Each one measures 69cm wide x 98cm deep x 80cm high. The seat height is roughly 34cm.
