Late 19th Century French Town Square Bench

Late 19th Century French Town Square Bench

£0.00

Antique Garden Bench

We have just got this stunner back from Provence in Southern France and it looks amazing in the shop.

Bought in Avignon this bench dates from the late 19th or possibly early 20th century period this really is a stylish piece it's curvy design is not only very comfortable but also beautiful.

This bench would have originally been installed in town square, think tree lined square's with old men playing petanque, surrounded by cafe's with locals drinking coffee of wine. You can still see similar benches to these in position although quite a lot of them have been replaced with more modern examples.

Made from wrought iron and thin wooden planks this example has been painted in a lovely verdigris colour which is naturally worn in places from use that would look amazing in a garden situation.

Measuring: 167cm long X 75cm deep X 78cm high.

The bench is in great vintage condition, it is solid and sturdy the paint is worn naturally in places from use. One of the wooden slats is cracked toward the end but has been repaired. Please see photographs.
