Vintage Hand Stitched Quilted Satin House Coat/Dressing Gown/Robe, 1930s

Vintage Hand Stitched Quilted Satin House Coat/Dressing Gown/Robe, 1930s
Vintage Quilted House Coat
A lovingly handmade item, with completely hand-stitched quilting techniques, a more standard criss-cross stitching on the upper, developing into fancy swirling patterns towards the bottom.
An unusual graphic print satin with coral pink background and repeated stylised patterns and lined with a solid lighter pink satin.
The satin fabric is possibly a naturally derived cellulose-based fabric like Rayon or Viscose, but it could also potentially be silk and definitely not an artificial polyester type material.
A stylish cut with an oversized long lapel collar, a tie fastener and a single pocket.
Probably dating from the 1930s-1940s period.
It is in very good vintage condition with only minor wear commensurate with age. Very well looked after or hardly worn.
The model in the photograph is a UK size 10. I would say it’s a fairly generous, relaxed, oversized fit, so likely to fit a range of sizes.
