Original Folk Art Woolwork Embroidery

Depicting a ship at sea in full sail, flying the Red Ensign with a lighthouse on a headland behind.

In a stylised, naive, folky style very reminiscent of old Victorian woolworks, but also incorporating a modern feel.

Unsigned but very much in the manner of Norfolk-based artist and ex. Sailor Colin Millington’s Woolworks.

Probably dating from the late 20th/early 21st century period.

Framed and glazed in an antique 19th-century maple frame.

The woolwork is in excellent vintage condition. It is still vibrant and not faded, and only minor wear consistent with age. The antique frame is also in good vintage order with only minor wear consistent with age.

Approximate overall measurements: 57cm x 45cm x 3cm.
