Antique Rustic French Dough Trough Side Table, Primitive Organic Form, 19th/20th Century

Antique Rustic French Dough Trough Side Table, Primitive Organic Form, 19th/20th Century
Antique Side/Occasional Table
A rustic piece constructed from an original antique 19th-century French dug-out dough trough, which has been mounted onto an organic form tripod base centred around a dug-out trunk container.
Converted to a table at some point in its life, probably in the early to mid-20th century. The previous owner used to store utensils in the container under the top and used the piece as a multi-functional table in their kitchen.
A decorative piece that has a wonderful wabi-sabi style to it. It could be used as a dough trough in the kitchen or as a side or end table with a wonderfully unique aesthetic.
In great vintage condition, it is solid and stable, the tray top has a historic, honest repair to the handle, and there is wear commensurate with age throughout, which adds to its charm and tells its story. There is a small amount of old historic woodworm present on the base, which we have treated for good measure.
Approximate measurements: 70cm wide x 45cm deep x 76cm high.
