Antique Glazed Earthenware Slipware Bowl, Swat Valley, Late 19th/Early 20th Century
Antique Glazed Pottery Bowl
A highly decorative bowl with a folky, rustic feel, reddish-brown fired clay decorated with a slipware glaze of a creamy, pale yellow-green ground, featuring sponged decoration in a more vibrant pea-green and brown. The underside is partially glazed in a wonderfully decorative green glaze.
Originating from the Swat valley in what is now modern-day Pakistan.
Overall, the bowl is in good vintage condition with wear throughout commensurate with age and use, including some chips to the glaze; some of these may have been original missing areas from manufacture.
Approximate measurements: 27cm diameter x 9cm high.
Delivery is £15 to the Mainland UK. If you live elsewhere, please get in touch for an accurate quote. The shipping will automatically be added at checkout unless you select collection.
