Antique Gilt Black Lacquer Chinese Export Tea Caddy
This example is a really nice shape and is beautifully decorated with foliate decorations as well as typical Chinese figural scenes. It sits on carved wooden dragon's feet. The interior is fitted out with it's original pewter containers decorated with chased flowers with the original covers and bone lids.
It is pretty faded and worn, fitting in with our aesthetic here. We like things this way, and think it adds to it's charm so wouldn't really suit a collector, it isn't bright and shiny and would more suit someone for a more worn look. It has had a couple of bashes and repairs of the years put is all present and correct. Please see photographs.
Measuring: 20cm wide X 14cm deep X 13cm high.
