Vintage Lifesize French Doberman Statue
WOOF WOOF! LIFESIZE RETRO DOBERMAN GUARD DOG
We have just got this stunner back from Provence in Southern France and it looks amazing in the shop.
Be careful with this one or he might have your hand away, I absolutely love this chap and he has made lot's of friends in the shop already.
It's been quite tricky finding out what material he is made of, at first in the brocante I thought it was ceramic, on closer inspection I thought maybe plaster of fiberglass but it had a different kind of quality to it and is quite weighty, when I got him home on closer inspection he appears to be made out of wood with plaster or something over the top then painted and varnished.
I would say he dates from the 1970s/1980s and would look excellent in a bar, restaurant or shop, equally good in a domestic setting or even outside in the garden.
He stands 94cm tall.
Overall the he is in great vintage condition, there are signs of wear and tear from age, small chips to the paintwork etc. Please see photos.
