Antique Arts and Crafts Carved Wooden Drinking Vessel

A carved Russian Kovsh, a boat-shaped drinking vessel originally intended for mead.

Unsigned but we have identified an almost identical example which Sotheby’s identified as by the Abramtsevo Workshops, the epicentre of the Russian arts and crafts movement.

Profusely carved with stylised doves and flowers.

It is in very good vintage condition other than wear and patina commensurate with age the only thing I would point out is a crack running across the bowl.

Measuring 32cm long x 28cm high x 17cm wide.

Delivery is £20 to Mainland UK. If you live elsewhere please get in touch for an accurate quote. The shipping will automatically be added at check out unless you select collection.
