A Large Continental Ceramic Tiger Figurine

We have just got this stunner back from Provence in Southern France and it looks amazing in the shop.

I am guessing this ceramic figure is continental in origin. It does have some marks on the base, an impressed mark with '8255' surrounded by 6 dot impressions along with a painted mark 'Spr' with a 'V' underneath. If you have any idea about the origin of this piece please get in touch.

Measuring in at 46cm (18") long this really is an impressive piece and is bang on trend for a jungle themed interior. It would equally look as good in a vintage/eclectic space as it would in an antique space. It features two tigers standing over it's prey on a naturalistic base and is modelled and decorated very well.

I would say it dates to early 20th century, possibly from the art deco period but could be earlier.

Measuring: 46cm long X 29cm high X 23cm deep.

Overall the figurine is in great vintage condition. There is some crazing to the glaze and a couple of firing cracks from manufacture. There is only one chip on the inside of the base lip but this is obviously in a place where you can't see it unless looking for it. Please see photos.
