German Bisque Doll in Hindu Dress, Early 20th Century

£0.00

Antique Doll by Gebrüder Süssenguth With Extravagant Indian Clothes and Jewellery

The doll is stamped on the back of her head ‘GESUE’ which is a mark of the Gebruber Sussenguth factory which operated 1894-1930.

A rosy-cheeked blue eyes girl, I guess quite a typical doll of the period.

Unusually she is covered head to toe in luxurious clothing, layer upon layer of colours and textures. She also has a wealth of jewellery including bead necklaces and wonderful hoop earrings as well as a ‘Hamsa’ hand symbol on her head. I think my favourite are her little blue slippers.

I would say the clothing has considerable age to it and if not purchased at the same time as the doll pretty soon afterwards.

The doll and clothes are in good vintage condition. There is some wear and tear here and there but nothing too serious. Please see photos.

Delivery is £20 to Mainland UK. If you live elsewhere please get in touch for an accurate quote. The shipping will automatically be added at check out unless you select collection.
