Antique French Wood Carving

A hugely decorative and charming piece depicting a male figure.

The artist has used the natural shape of the root to pick out the form of a standing figure with long limbs and a hunchback. Perhaps a fantastical beast, mythical creature or alien lifeform.

Completely hand carved and polished.

Stood on a gnarly root base.

Originating from France and dating from the 1970s period.

Signed to the base ‘H. Hug’ and dated ‘1974’.

The carving is largely in good condition, with handling wear commensurate with age. The only thing we would draw your attention to is the fact it appears the arms were once slightly longer than they are now.
