Small Antique Impressionist Study of a Bridge Over a River, Original Oil Painting, Early 20th Century

£0.00

Antique Oil on Panel Painting by William H. Bond (1861-1918)

Capturing a very grey British scene with a fast-flowing river flowing under a stone bridge with figures in a boat on the opposite bank.

Painted in a very confident, impressionist style, capturing the mood of the landscape.

Signed to the lower left ‘W. H. Bond’ and dated ‘07’ for 1907.

Not much is known about the artist but there is another painting of a bridge by the same hand in the Brighton & Hove Museum entitled ‘Old Shoreham Bridge, West Sussex’. So perhaps this scene is from the same area, possibly Arundel Bridge over the Arun.

Later framed in an attractive deep set frame and the panel is mounted floating.

The painting itself is in excellent vintage condition with no real issues and only very minor wear commensurate with age.

Overall measurements: 32cm x 26cm x 3cm. The panel itself measures 22cm x 15.5cm.

Delivery is £20 to Mainland UK. If you live elsewhere please get in touch for an accurate quote. The shipping will automatically be added at checkout unless you select collection.
