Small Vintage Cubist Crayon Cityscape Drawing by Václav Tikal, Czech, 1950s

Small Vintage Cubist Crayon Cityscape Drawing by Václav Tikal, Czech, 1950s

£0.00

Mid-Century Surrealist Landscape ‘Mesto’ 1951 by Vaclav Tikal (1906-1965).

Mesto translates as ‘The City’ which makes sense. A kind of abstract, angular but soft surreal-cubist melange.

Tikal was a well-known surrealist artist and ceramicist, mainly working in Prague. It could be a preparatory sketch for a larger painting but he did do a lot of small-scale drawings that were works in their own right.

Signed and dated lower right.

Provenance: Previously with Galerie Moderna, Prague.

In excellent vintage condition.

Overall measurements: 19.5cm x 9.5cm.

Delivery is £10 to the Mainland UK. If you live elsewhere please get in touch for an accurate quote. The shipping will automatically be added at check out unless you select collection.
