Drawing of a French Bulldog and a Greyhound, Early 20th Century

Drawing of a French Bulldog and a Greyhound, Early 20th Century

£0.00

Antique Original Charcoal and Chalk Study of Dogs

Depicting two dogs believed to be a greyhound on the right but could quite easily be a whippet or another type of sighthound and a bulldog type dog, either French or English bulldog or even a pit bull or something similar. Both in wonderful antique collars.

Indistinctly signed in pencil ‘Marguerite B********’.

The artist has expertly captured the character of the dogs and it appears to be by quite a talented hand.

I would date this to the early 20th century but could quite possibly be a tad earlier.

Framed and glazed in a simple antique frame

The drawing does have some wear and tear as can be seen from the photographs but this seems to add to the overall charm and aesthetic of the piece. There is nothing too damaging to the image itself. The frame is also worn and that seem to compliment the drawing well.

Overall measurements: 66cm x 50cm.
