'Wedded' by Lord Frederic Leighton.

Originally painted in 1882 this is an engraving of the painting produced in London in 1905 by the Fine Arts Publishing Co. Ltd.

Leighton was a prominent painter and sculptor in the Victorian period, after working in Paris and Florence he moved back to London where he became associated with the Pre-Raphaelite movement.

A typical romantic classical subject.

The paper is stamped 'Burlington Proof'.

Still in it's original frame measuring: 99cm X 68cm.

Please see other listings for another romantic engraving in matching frame.

The engraving itself is in good vintage order, there is a small tear in the top right hand corner, the mount shows some signs of age. The glass in the frame is free from damage and the frame has some losses. Overall there are signs of age and imperfections etc. but for us this doesn't detract from the overall aesthetic and adds to the overall charm as an interior design piece. Please see photographs.
